About Us
I never had trouble waking up. The alarm would go off, I'd hear it, and I'd be up. Simple.
The problem was everything that came after.
That sound, sharp, sudden, jarring, would hit me every morning like a small emergency. Heart racing before my eyes were even open. A cortisol spike before I'd said a word to anyone. I'd reach for my phone in a panic, silence it as fast as possible, and spend the next ten minutes trying to shake off the anxiety it left behind.
It wasn't oversleeping that was ruining my mornings. It was the alarm itself.
I started looking for alternatives and found nothing that made sense. Smartwatches vibrate, but they're built to do a hundred other things. They're not built to wake you up. Every app I tried was either unreliable or just a quieter version of the same problem. I wanted something that would wake me up the way the sun used to before alarm clocks existed. Gradually, gently, physically. Without the shock. Without the noise.
So I built Nordsleep. Aurora was the first product, a silent vibration alarm worn on your wrist. No sound. No sudden panic. Just a gentle vibration that gradually increases until you're awake, calmly, on your own terms. Paired with a sleep mask, earplugs and nasal strips, because a good morning starts the night before.
Aurora isn't for people who sleep through everything. It's for anyone who's tired of starting their day in fight-or-flight mode.
My name is David. And I just wanted a quiet morning.
